I’m a lifelong foodie and food scientist. It doesn’t matter whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner- mealtimes serve a function. They should also be as enjoyable as possible. So I’m always on the lookout for new ideas, as well as re-visiting old favourites. Inspiration can come from anywhere: something a friend or family member used to cook, a memorable meal out, a glossy magazine, or from listening to or playing music.
Some of the food themes I most often explore at the moment are:
-cooking with storecupboard ingredients
-the fakeaway (making takeaway food at home more naturally and economically)
-British classics revisited
-making the most of the vegetable box arriving each week
When I’m not baking or experimenting with the comfort of the British and Asian classics I’ve grown up with , you’ll find me exploring the US food scene. Some of the meals on my Instagram are healthy, and some of them are more indulgent, but once the washing up is done, there’s always time for a long walk to help digest and burn some calories- it’s all about balance.
Join me as I take a mix of these food inspirations and try to make them easy to recreate at home, to elevate even the dullest of mealtimes into something to look forward to.
